thanks! I actually have a few ride outs with both Memorial Hermann and PHI coming up, mainly for getting HD video this time for a promo video I'm putting together. I have a ContourHD helmet-mounted camera now, and a Canon HD camcorder instead of the dinky Sony that shot this video

Havent yet, they all fly 407s here, so not much video I can really take in the back on the medical birds without violating HIPPA or PHI policy =/

@chechnya A trauma center is only a trauma center when the required staff are on duty. Often times various hospitals that would have been suitable go on "trauma diversion" when there arent certain doctors/staff available.

Just because you see a hospital nearby doesnt mean a nuro surgeon is on duty 24/7 365. They take the patient to the hospital where the required staff for that injury happens to be on duty.

There is a hospital literally 10 seconds away from Mercer Stadium and another hospital less than 1 minute away.. was the trauma that life threatening that they had to airlift him?
