I kinda grin too. I taught him how to ride. He has been riding for about five years.

I told him my Triumph was not a beginners bike. He found out the reason. It doesn't self balance like a v-twin does. You have to make it go where you want it to go.

It's a 2005. I am really enjoying it.

Nothing against the Harley I rode for 25 years but to me this is just a tiny bit better for fit and ride comfort than my Harley. That's not saying after I got the Mustang seat the Harley was a bad ride either.

how could you tell there was another gear? did you upshift?

The bike was so quiet I thought I was in the last gear. The motor revs seemed nice and low.

I pulled in the clutch and pushed the shift lever up just to check and there was still another gear left.

Wow, that's crazy. And that is pretty quiet for a 1300.

LIke me he has pretty good upper body strength. That helps sometimes but not always.
