Spartacus 2000 claimed their third consecutive NYYSL League Championship with a dominating 8-2 victory against North York Cosmos. Knowing that a win would seal the championship definitely motivated the team to set a high tempo game from the opening kick off.
In two previous encounters against the highly competitive Cosmos, play had been tight, and goals scored were few. However, in this game Spartacus scored early and often, and if not for some fine saves by the Cosmos goalkeeper the game would have become a rout before the end of the first half.
The second half continued with Spartacus overwhelming their opposition, creating countless goal scoring opportunities in the course of creative build up play and unselfish team passing. As a result the goals continued to accumulate, and by the time the final whistle arrived Spartacus was full value for their large margin of victory.
dang #5 for the red team will be the next star of the USMNT
