sry cant help. the motor sound weird.
my suggestion
bring the motor to the hobby shop
let them test the motor.

yea whenever ive seen this happen people have always said it was a timing issue. u may either have to reprogram or get a new esc that has the right timing for the motor

Hey Dave sounds like a bad motor. Water may have eventually corroded the inside of this. Try a different motor with that esc to see if the esc is bad. Same with the battery try a different one and narrow the problem down.

i think you should change the motor because i think that you burnt the brushesses of the motor

Check your connections , and then make sure its a good battery. I would run it very long like that very long.
May need to program ESC
-
maybe the leads of the esc need to be switched

i would say lack of power maybe you have a bad battery this happens to me with my cars the motor will make that sound
mine did the same thing and the esc was new. i found out the middle wire on the esc was not soldered on good. i resoldered the connector and it's been working well, till i crashed the plane. not sure how it's working because the wires didn't look good. i'll just buy another one.
