Old clothes find new lease of life

That pair of jeans doesn't fit anymore? This dress is out of season? Instead of throwing it away and letting it end up in our already ballooning landfills, "People Power in a New World" sees your old clothes as ample art material.

Students from 30 schools undertook a this art-meets-recycling project by turning old clothes into animal sculptures. Organised by the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation along with New World Development, the students exhibited their works at New World Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Although many adults may not cosy up to the idea of turning their old clothes into dolls, the project encourages Hong Kongers to search for new and possibly hidden value among old items.
