Miguel Falcao Sousa (MIPI Controllers R&D Manager) of Synopsys shows a demonstration of their CSI-2 host controller IP implemented on an FPGA that interfacing to a camera.

This demonstration is using the Synopsys DesignWare MIPI® IP solutions to stream data from a standard MIPI camera sensor to an LCD display module. The camera's integrated MIPI interface is used to capture and serialize the streaming video, which is then sent through the CSI-2 link. The DesignWare D-PHY receives the high-speed stream and sends it to the DesignWare CSI-2 host controller to unpack the CSI-2 video stream and display it on an LCD module. The CSI-2 host controller is implemented in an FPGA using the Synopsys HAPS hardware prototyping platform.

Synopsys provides a growing portfolio of IP for MIPI interfaces, including controllers and PHYS. The DesignWare MIPI 4G DigRF Master Controller IP complements the silicon proven DesignWare 3G DigRF IP solution by enabling significantly increased throughput and simplified integration and interoperability between the RF transceiver IC and baseband IC (BBIC). Synopsys also provides the silicon proven DesignWare MIPI D-PHY, which enables integration of the MIPI Camera Serial Interface (CSI-2), Display Serial Interface (DSI) and Unified Protocol (UniPro) standard interfaces. Synopsys' high-quality DesignWare IP solutions for MIPI help designers accelerate the development of next-generation mobile devices requiring high-bandwidth connectivity and support for multi-megapixel cameras and high definition displays.

  • I am looking for an LCD Display with DSI(Display Serial Driver). Could not find a place to find it. I want it to connect to "Raspberry Pi" board which has a DSI connector.
