  • Once you do it a few times, it actually is fairly easy. It is just getting over the oddity of having no mask and breathing out of your mouth with your nose exposed to water.... a little practice went a LONG way for me and my kids.

  • Whoa....amazing buoyancy/trim control

  • Sexy.

  • @kennynom yes, it hurts a bit but its not excruciating. Its only bad if you open your eyes for a long period of time. Taking off the mask is just practice, so you know what to do if your mask is knocked off and how to fill it with air again.

  • Sorry I have a question.... when diving on salty waters, isn't it painful to open your eyes? And what is the point of taking out the mask?

-Sorry an amateur trying to understand what's going on...

  • Excellent Trim and buoyancy, too often I see this critical skill overlooked.

  • One thing i did was for my class was remove the mask, then remove your mouthpiece, put on your mask, and then put your mouthpiece back on. This really helps make you faster at this, because your life literally depends on it!! lol

  • 3 PADI Course Directors didnt like his awesomeness.

  • Great Video. Good Job

  • @honnoand000 Yes, if you press the upper rim of the mask against your forehead, and tilt the mask outward like this: forehead-> |\ <-mask, when you exhale through your nose the air will be trapped in the mask, and will push the water out. Resulting in an empty/air filled mask.
