  • Hi nice video, and thanks for sharing. One question if u can answer plz, Did u test the soil before designing the footings?

  • @pmaldinis I believe the builder did that for us.

  • hi,where abouts is this house?nice design.

  • @mk21969 The house is in Western New York, South-East of Buffalo. Its a Barden Home design, which I modified.

  • looks real good ......

im looking into buying property and building my own house

    any tips ?

how much would it cost compared to just buying a new house?

  • @MsDeelovely well yeah, lots of tips - too many... It will most likely cost more to build than purchase an existing home, but then you can get exactly what you want - or as much as you can afford... it is a lot of work, and very frustrating, and never ends up on budget. we ended up going 40,000 over what we expected.

  • @omega4chimp "Looks simple" Get out there to actually do it and realize how far experience and knowing the little things, the ins and outs, the tricks makes for easier going

  • Great Video

  • @MarkFlanders123 south east is tonawanda?? Right.

  • Thats all they do pour a bunch of concrete and erect some beams and nail some wood.looks simple.

  • @MsDeelovely Listen to the guy, every DYI homebuilder I have ever seen has gone over budget on a worse quality home. They get what they want, but all they know is what they see at home depot or lowes. Hire a professiona, each subcontractor you hire is going to give you a "pain in the ass DYI" bid, because they know what is ahead, unlike the homeowners. Pros usually use the same subs, and they all know what to expect that way, smooooooth process, few headaches Good builder=same price in the end

  • @MarkFlanders123 ok thanks :)
