Morgan O'kane performs "Gone" on the Staten Island Ferry in New York Harbor.

Originally from Virginia, Morgan O'kane has brought a bit of southern mountain flare to New York City for the past seven years. From lowly streets and subway platforms to European bars and pubs, Morgan's meteoric rise has only just begun. This fully capable one-man banjo-band makes sure that if he's performing, it's not to be missed.

  • ALways love to hear somebody spreading the Joy of Banjoaround the planet. And to play while sitting on what may be the world's first Rectangular Foot-Powered Bohdran, extra points!

Rare banjo technique, and even rarer to see an RFPB as the rhythm section. Well done, Mr.O.

  • Amazing. Very well done.

  • great

  • This can't be real. If Morgon was a real working musician that banjo case on the ferry would be open! LOL! Yes? Thanks for sharing.

  • Saw Morgan in Lancaster, PA last year and was just blown away. I kept saying to my friends, I can't believe he's the "opener." I've never before said before this day, "Man, I really wish I was on the Staten Island Ferry..."

  • Amazing. So proud to call him my BIL :) :) :)
