Part of Future Crew's PC Demo "Second Reality", synced and mixed with video of my piano interpretation of Purple Motion's techno sound track. Sorry I don't quite have the perfect rhythm to play techno piano even with the help of a metronome, but you get the idea.

View the full demo too if you haven't seen it. It's probably one of the related videos listed.

  • Was it difficult to adapt a techno piece to synthetic piano?

  • Not sure what you mean by synthetic piano... adapting anything to piano should be the same experience whether the piano is acoustic or otherwise. In any case, I did the adaptation on an acoustic many years ago, and I wouldn't say it was difficult. I just notate the parts I think are most essential, since I don't have enough fingers for all of it.

  • I think the 3d part after the scroll is the one that has most interesting melody for piano, this one is more techno. I think.

  • The color plasma/smoke panels that fall off? I like the notation there too and I've figured out the quick 16th notes part, but I haven't taken the time to add the underlying melody.

  • To those asking for the rest, I can only play through the one scene that follows ("Another Way to Scroll") - after that it's mostly techno filler with little melody so it sounds boring on the piano.

  • really nice idea

but maybe you should learn how to hit the right notes before you release something like this

  • Actually I think you misunderstood the idea. I figured this out on the piano 10 years ago just for fun. The idea of the video was just to record it for posterity, not to enter it in a contest.

  • 0:49, this was my favorite part

  • The next part after this is amazing (musicwise)

  • Get down?!

  • Cool stuff!

  • Great job!

This is unfortunately not yet part of any piano lessons... :) Perhaps one day, among other classics.

  • fantastic! =)

  • This is really nice. I would like to try it too...

  • I found this far, far more enjoyable than I should have. Seems incredible how long ago this was, I remember running it on my 386 and thinking I had quite a powerhouse.

  • great... needs some violins in the background..!
