This is a series of vids chronicling my experience with septoplasty surgery to correct a deviated septum.
This is Part 5, the day after surgery, shortly after removing the drains from my nose. The drains looked like trimmed aquarium tubing, actually.
I hope people will find this helpful if they are considering this type of surgery.

  • did your breathing improve?

  • @SproutConfidence YES it's been a lot better. I still get a little stuffy sometimes but I think that is more due to air quality (allergens, etc.) than anything not working correctly in my nose.

  • I ha the same surgery 2 days ago. No packing just lots of blood and dry crust. My teeth also hurt and so does my face. Your not swollen at all. I am black and blue. I hope the surgery was a success ^_^

  • @davisfontanes -- YES -- A year on now from the surgery and all is good! Breathing much better. :)

  • hey....i just had mine removed today too.... how long until you can actually breathe through your nose?

  • @codehendrix A couple days -- once the drain tubes and packing & stuff comes out it starts getting more back to normal.

  • you must not have a gf do you

  • My dad is trying his level best to scare me out of this surgery, but I need to breathe! Have you noticed any reduction in sinus infections since the operation?

  • @victoriajane2305 If you had a open Rhinoplasty like i did, they have to cut through the front gum nerve, which is why it hurts or is numb. It take a couple of months to heal..

  • @1976Cordoba no-two years from my surgery, the nasal congestion has returned! I am so desperate! The surgery is not that useful.
