Love'em or hate'em, he was onoe of the west coast pioneers of electro/rap and obviously went onto great commercial success. I got into him about 84-85 through old demo tapes that we bought at our local record shop of his mix tapes/rap tapes. His very early demo stuff was very much akin to The Wreckin' Cru as were his early singles. This one has always been a top tune for me. You have Kid Sensation on the mic using vocoder and human beatbox. One thing that most people do not realize is that Sir Mix-A-Lot was dope DJ in his own right. The scratches on this record are proof of his prowess on the turntables. Enjoy...

I remember seeing Sir Mix-A-Lot w/Kid Sensation and crew at the Paramount Theatre in 1987 opening for acts such as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Kool Moe Dee and 2 Live Crew (Grandmaster Flash was supposed to be there, but didn't show). I still remember "I Want A Freak" and "Electro Scratch" being performed live!
