The sprawling industrial landscape of Inland Steel (now ArcelorMittal) in East Chicago, IN, as seen from the train. The two and a half minutes of rolling scenery illustrates the length of Lake Michigan shoreline that this facility occupies, but to get a sense of the depth--how far out into the lake the mill extends--watch closely around 0:45 as the train crosses the shipping channel.
Recorded on Nov. 23, 2011 from the window of the Great Dome, making a special appearance on Amtrak 352.
