Stay Afraid - The Power of Fear

A short montage of pictures and video clips arranged to a song performed by Mitch Benn, stand-up comedian, song writer and performer.

The song is about fear and its use in keeping people under control. Whether it is aliens, communists, eternal damnation or phantom weapons of mass destruction, fear is the oldest trick in the book for keeping the public passive.

Rudy Guiliani demonstrates this principle perfectly in his sleazy new TV election advert.

Exceptional representation of a fundamental truth. I am of the mind that the only thing that can fight repression through fear is the openness of the internet. If ever legislation started to look like creating executive control over the net, then that would be viewed as a final assault on the ability to cripple false fear tyranny. Good work.

Excellent video. It is ironic how we are told that 'our enemy' is trying to destroy our society because this ememy is against our 'freedom' yet we our leaders decide to make laws such as banning demos, ID cards etc , they argue that it is in order to protect our 'freedom' so they take our freedom in order to protect it from enemies they have created in the first place: may they rot.

Good video, and important message to get out. Sometimes its easy to give into fear, and as the nazis knew, if the population is fearful you can lead them anywhere. Of course one way to not live in fear is to not tune in to mainstream media, which thrives on making us fearful.
