This Game Rocks, i got this yesterday and i have enjoyed it, the graphics are brilliant and the gameplay is fun, yet another gem in the Ps3's Crown.

The reason Insomniac did not add Multiplayer was because they had realised the amount of time they put into multiplayer, and how they could take that time to Improve Singleplayer. Myself, I have noticed a HUGE difference, I have reccently downloaded the demo to find it amazing. I personally think it was a good idea. Remember that there is Resistance for Insomniac to update on also.
I believe in the Next R&C game there will be available multiplayer.
