Gameplay from the arcade version of Robotron: 2084, emulated in MAME32.
Driven onward by the drive to invent, man creates the Robotrons. They are so perfect that man is inferior to his own creation. Guided by perfect logic, the Robotrons come to the only conclusion: MAN IS INFERIOR. MAN MUST BE EXTERMINATED.
Due to a genetic engineering glitch, you are the only one who can save the last human family. Fire and move separately using two joysticks and save what little of humanity is left!

This was a hot game in the UK and i scored over 7 million with over 5 million being a regular thing, you have to eat, breath, sleep this game to understand how amazingly addictive it was...sheer and utter mayhem kicking off and i miss it

On Pacman or Donkey Kong, you can get 188,000 points under a light doze. On Robotron 188,000 points is something to tell your grandkids about. This game made you work for it.

best videogame ever.
you should see what it looks like when someone who knows what they're doing is behind the controllers. after a couple hours you let half a dozen lives go just to take a break, and you're soaked with sweat. gotta be arcade though, MAME doesn't cut it, you need two solid joysticks for proper gameplay.
