  • great these sound loco`s i just bought a class 24 bachman, tell me do you have to re enter the functions on the controller,( I USE A HORNBY ELITE) AFTER YOU HAVE DICONNECTED FROM MAINS and then re started.?

  • Hi,

no you dont the decoder in the loco is programed with which function do's what effect (sound/lights)

The controlller will just send the sinal to the decoder telling it which function you have just pressed

    cheers

  • Hi,

the chip has the sound files on it and it is played through a speaker in the loco. This loco has a bass enhanced speaker as well as a 20x40 fitted so it is louder than most. The volume is set at half way.

    cheers

  • how do you control the sound do you have to u the function keys?

  • The engine noise is controlled by the decoder. The faster the loco travels the more the engine revs.

The horn and other noises are linked to the function keys.

  • Superb sounding model.

Brings back memories of when I was a second man on them out of Old Oak Common.

The only thing missing at start up is the fumes from the four exhaust ports...Now if Hornby could fix that....

  • There are different ones depending on scale of your stock. I got the OO/HO version but this also goes down to N.

    Shop around as prices vary.

  • Yes, that's most useful. Thanks for letting me know.

  • Hi, they are Bachrus Saddle Rolling Roads . I have a set and they are very good. Adjustable too. HTH

  • Wonderful video and sound. One question though, where did you get those rollers from? I'm looking for something like that. Thanks.

  • The first 15 seconds are not what a class 50 sounds like when it is about to start. The rest is fine.

  • HI,

the sound chip is from a company called South west Digital. a search on Google will bring up the website

    cheers
