Superb sounding model.
Brings back memories of when I was a second man on them out of Old Oak Common.
The only thing missing at start up is the fumes from the four exhaust ports...Now if Hornby could fix that....

There are different ones depending on scale of your stock. I got the OO/HO version but this also goes down to N.
Shop around as prices vary.

Yes, that's most useful. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi, they are Bachrus Saddle Rolling Roads . I have a set and they are very good. Adjustable too. HTH

Wonderful video and sound. One question though, where did you get those rollers from? I'm looking for something like that. Thanks.

The first 15 seconds are not what a class 50 sounds like when it is about to start. The rest is fine.

Hi,
the chip has the sound files on it and it is played through a speaker in the loco. This loco has a bass enhanced speaker as well as a 20x40 fitted so it is louder than most. The volume is set at half way.
cheers

how do you control the sound do you have to u the function keys?

The engine noise is controlled by the decoder. The faster the loco travels the more the engine revs.
The horn and other noises are linked to the function keys.
