  • Ever heard of a bicycle?

  • This device is awesome!

While all major manufactures are investing in futuristic concepts to always stay ahead of the curve, GM is bashed for investing in the future of transportation. I guess doing nothing worked really well for the Rummer brand.

  • so this is where GM spent the $14 bailout money

have an outside company like Segway to build them an electric wheelchair ?

  • You did not snow the guy and the girl getting out of this vehicle. Stupid. Sure, this is an experimental vehicle, and their getting out sure was not graceful, but still, cutting this piece out looks like plain cheating to me. I like the concept, but don't cheat on your prospective customers, and don't try to show things better than they are, don't hide the drawbacks.

Otherwise, great stuff! Now make it, and I will buy it.

  • There are a few PRT system designs out there. I've been working on design concepts also. But you have to start with what is practical and what represents best engineering. Removing wheels at the front and then having to control the tilt of the vehicle is a regresive step. It is overdesign. Where you do need to focus is on reducing the width, and ensuring it is long enough for dealing with impacts. This design you will see will be 'tripped' by objects chucked in the way. Great technology however.

  • Great Stuff GM i had my doubts but there is a time for everything

  • i lov it!

  • OK, at first this early prototype made me laugh so hard that milk came shooting out of my nose.

BUT, the more I look at this PUMA based on its urban application, the better I think the idea actually is.

The average car only has one occupant at any given time. You can park 6 PUMAs in the space of ONE regular car and get 2 PUMAs side by side in each car lane!

It costs only 35 cents to go 35-mph for 35 miles.

This may be the answer once it is "fleshed-out" with a full body, doors etc.
