On our roadtrip across america, we took a detour through Monument Valley. On the way there, we took a 17 mile 'back road' dirt track through the famous Vally of the Gods, Utah. This is just a couple of miles north of the Arizona border. You should be able to locate it on a map.

This valley is not as well known as Monument Valley, but is definitely just as impressive because you really are out in the middle of nowhere and you get a real feeling of remoteness, whilst being up close and personal to the awesome Mesa rockstacks. I really recommend this if you are in the vicinity. It is a MUST see.

Recommend you take this road in something that can handle the terrain though. We were in a 2007 Ford Explorer, and as you can see from the video, this dirt track takes you across numerous dry river beds, and really put our 4x4 through its paces. We did see some other normal cars, but not sure i'd take my car through there!! Enjoy :o)
