Just trying out a new little banjo I bought today. It's a Gold Tone CC-50. Nothing fancy, but doesn't sound too bad I don't think for the money.
This song, The Foggy Dew, was written by a parish priest Father P. O'Neill in Ireland in 1919. It is a tribute to the men who fought and died in the Easter Uprising of 1916 and encouraged young men to fight for the cause of Ireland rather than the British as they had done in WW1. Of course, you wouldn't know that just by this haunting tune, but the lyrics are interesting if you look them up.
