Politics 2010: Independent Maryanne Lewis running for the 10th Congressional seat

Prior to starting her Independent consulting profession Ms. Lewis served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1995-2003 as the State Representative from the 11th Norfolk District. After being elected President of her class upon entry into the Legislature, Maryanne made history with her promotion to Chair the Committee on Federal Financial Assistance making her the first women to ever chair a committee in her first term. Maryanne distinguished herself yet again in her second legislative term with her ascension to Assistant Majority Whip. As Chair of the Woman's Caucus, Lewis oversaw the implementation of the first ever Commission to study the Status of Women. Maryanne was also, most recently, elected to a five year term on the Scituate Housing Authority in May of 2009.
