One of, if not, THE first rock dance fusion outfits. Criminally ignored and now almost forgotten despite being feted by the music industry at the time.

Members at various times included Nellee Hooper, MC Kinky, CJ Mackintosh and Dave Dorrell.

They played all over the world and even opened for James Brown but it seems the public just weren't ready for their new sound. They had a huge influence on me and for that I thank all involved.

Check out Mackintosh's turntablism, go-go beats and those Def Jam guitar stabs.

If anyone out there has a CD-quality version of the album for sale message me as my original vinyl is almost worn out beyond listening!!!

  • This song was part of the soundtrak on "License to Thrill" (1989). Perfect fit for the movie!

  • I remember this also in a movie soundtrack...anyone know which movie is that?

  • Finally found this video!! Yeah!!

  • 0.44 is my uncle

  • @newmusicmark Yeah, but that's sort of the nature of the hip-hop side of Nasty Rox. Same goes for a good part "9th Wonder" and "Wooba Wubbaa II". I'm a huge Chuck Brown fan but if you really listen to "Escape From New York" you'll hear how much has been added to the instrumental part of the track.

  • Thumbs up if you first heard this song to some extreme skiing.

  • Used to really like this track until I discovered that this track rips off about 95% of Chuck Brown's "We Need Some Money" from 1984. The beats, the breaks, the samples...even the scratching on this version is very similar to the rhythm guitar part. I can't believe it! Would just rather listen to the original now.
