A demo version of "Sheltered Life", a Velvet Underground song written by Lou Reed (how very unusual). I've no idea under what circumstances it was recorded, nor why it can only now be found in demo version on Peel Slowly and See's White Light/White Heat CD.

  • Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground made my sad youth 100% cooler!

  • I hope this song brought back suitably melancholy memories!

  • This has become on of my favorite VU songs. In a way, I'm glad they never did anything more with it. It's perfect how it is.

  • Has kinda a Syd Barrett sound.

  • lou reed's guitar playing, singing and words makes him an important sample of the human being in the world in our times. he's as big as the pyramids, and he has a pair of balls as big too. he's an artist, and a messenger. and i'm thankful of his sensibility travelling around the world through you, all tha way to argentina, where i'm singing along and moving my feet.

  • MAte this rocks.

All the way from Australia many thanks lollig from posting this absolutely brilliant gear.

Kudos to Lou for giving this to the world in the first place,

a twisted but brilliant legend in every sense.

  • @mqduck I couldn't agree more. This is one my favorites as well.
