@ScoMu7eD In modern automatic centerfire (Glock, HK, SW, Ruger, all of them) pistols, a firing pin strikes the primer on the cartridge, not the hammer. Some of them do have hammers, which strike a firing pin, which strikes the primer. The Glock incorporates a "Safe Action" mechanism, wherein the trigger pull acts directly on the firing pin, which is held at half cock after the action is cycled. There is no hammer, or anything like a hammer, in a Glock. Period.

the "hammer" hits whats known as a percussion cap on the back of the round(bullet)/cartridge(shell)
. This triggers a small explosion, which has a knock on effect to the main charge. This then fills the chamber full of hot gas and shrapnel aswell as pushing the bullet away from the casing. It is the hot gas which forces the round down the chamber, this also forces the working parts back, causing the automatic/semi-automatic firing. By this very standard all guns must have hammers.

6 people couldn't cock the hammer.

The simple best hip hop song ever made. So atmospheric, a real accoustic bass and awesome ghostly sounds. When do you ever get that. Thats the original purest Cypress Hill

@yewtoobdewd Yes they do the hammer is any part of the gun which has to be pulled back in order for the gun to fire in this case the top part of the gun, sorry I forgot the name of that part, but its not only revolvers which have a hammer
