This is a review of the SNES classic now available to download on Nintendo Wii via the Virtual Console

This is a review from the perspective of this being a VC game and not a review of the SNES original.

  • No probs :)

  • Ah, yes, I see what you mean. I might think about downloading some VC games as soon as I can get my Wii hooked up to the internet. Anyway, thanks for the info.

  • So hope I've helped with that and feel free to ask anything else :)

    Thanks :D

  • The VC has this thing known as the VC save where when you hit home in the middle of the game, when you go back you go back to where you were.

However it's not a hard save, so if you go back on and just switch off, you'll lose everything.

And not all games can do it, I believe that the only ones that don't, are N64 and Neo Geo.

But the passwords and normals saves are still there when they're there if you know what I mean. However with Kid Icarus, Ninty has changed the passwords. No idea why.

  • Great review as always. I been thinkin about getting this game and Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. I have a question, though. Does the Wii Virtual Console version of the game still have the password feature like the SNES version of the game does, or does it have a somewhat "autosave" feature that doesn't require writing down a password?

  • Yeah, think it is.

  • Speaking of the 64 version, isn't that plate throwing boss the same one in that version? I notice that they like to recycle quite a few bosses from all versions.

  • This game sort of reminds me of goemon's great adventure. I may get this sometime in the future.
