  • This guy is the epitome of an anarchist to me. It's not about fashion or being extreme. He's just a true American with true American values. Not greed, and hate, and pretense. Just a love of art and culture and freedom. We need more folks like him.

  • "george bush shatters the notion of white supremacy."

  • Utah, forever on the great divide.

  • i enjoyed this in so many ways...so thanks to richard for the share, i did not know that utah also had such a wonderful personality as well as his already known talent! very entertaining!

  • fuck, i hope i'm like this in 60 years

  • thank you

  • Thanks, Venice Artists, for letting me share this concert. One of his best stories was about how, when traveling, he knew the FBI was keeping taps on his phone, so he called his wife and told her, "Whatever you do, don't dig up the back yard. That's where the guns are buried!" He got his garden tilled courtesy of Uncle Sam! As a fellow vet, I can truly appreciate the wit. The Creator got another good man. RIP.

  • Met Bruce Phillips back in the middle 60s when I belonged to the Intermountain Folk Music Council (Rosalie Sorrels was also at our meetings). "Utah" told of his army experiences in Korea. This was before my Vietnam experience of 1968. My brother Joel, still a resident of SLC, kept me up with Bruce's contributions to the public forum (usually from Nevada) until his death. A wonderful American.

  • I have always Loved his truth in comments and was happy to see him live at least once before he died. However I am also a Lenard Cohen fan, although I saw the humor in his jab.

  • Heard him on the Democracy Now labor day 2009 broadcast. The whole hour was just him and Amy Goodman, with performance clips. I think it had some of this.

  • I feel the same way. I just discovered him.
