He forgot to mention that if one of those RAID drives takes a permanent dump on you, you need to have a 3rd IDENTICAL drive handy to use as a replacement.

@bmw2go11 but this technically is a raid server.. you don't need server or linux to run a server. im running xp with just standard HDD's over the network and i get my internet from it. technically it is a server and its some old hard drives in an old PC..just some brain food for yea

Hehe, I just build myself a 12TB NAS running Linux software RAID 5. Never worry about storage anymore.

the title of this video is how to build a raid SERVER!!! not slap in 2 extra hard drives and a raid card in a old pc... you forgot to tell people all about windows server and linux... *sigh*
