My mums cat has had three legs since a young age due to a road accident, he is now 19 years old, and still gets around, he could run and jump quite well up untill a year or so ago. He is on a special diet to keep him slim so there is not to much load on his back leg. what amazing animals cats are.

I love this kitty. Is there a surgery that can be done to help his back legs become more functional? I can tell he gets along great.

@semka5151 Skitter does not qualify for amputation because he is mobile and uses his curled leg for balance. Because of his cerebellar hypoplasia, even if he had normal legs, he'd still walk funny.

Skitter is very much alive and well. He's now 9-1/2 months old, neutered, and capable of doing anything a normal cat cat do, except jump. He climbs the kitty condo (pulling himself up with his front claws), he uses the litter box, and he can run! He still bobbles his head when he eats, drinks, or gets a treat, but most people don't notice.
