John Mayer has worked enough magic on an acoustic guitar to make Jenniifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson bat their eyelashes. Worth a try, isn't it? There's a lot of mood and movement packed into this little two-bar phrase, and it requires you to work a fingerpicked groove that has a feel and strength normally reserved for strums. This is tricky to get underhand, but once you have it you won't want to stop.

  • that's why he says "its in the style of john mayer". He's not tabbing the song, just teaching a technique.

  • Wow! I wonder how many videos lessons all these "expert" critics have on the market? It takes far less effort or skill to run your mouth condemning someone for a work than it does to actually create a work. That is probably why critics always outnumber artists.

  • Wrong bro

  • heee that sounds great........thank you for sharring

  • It sounds nice, and the style is correct, but he jumps a little bit early on the IV chord if he is trying to play Georgia. This sounds more like Delaware

  • @TheDguitarman no shit, if he played the actual song there would be copyright issues and the video might get removed...hes just teaching technique

  • just saying that this is wrong. John plays an open d string after the open g, then moves up to the 4th fret on the d string and the 5th on the a string. Apart from that it's correct. Just a heads up :)

  • @Rawfall well i have never heard the song he is covering but it sounds like the timing is right and i don't hear any notes or chords that collash but if you're implying it isn't exactly as jm played it then maybe you're right

  • @RyanHaig no

  • Nice one! We even learn how to play "the bottom of the sea"- chord at 1:13

    XD

  • @Rawfall Their ear must be off because that was perfectly in time.

  • @wvgman there must be a lot of guitarplayers among the critics then cause this is very wrong. i know its in the style of jm but still if people think it sounds wrong it means they got ear for this stuff :)
