Mikhail (Misha) Marshak demonstrates two different Snatch assistance drills. The first is a Swing/Snatch Combo where you swing to about chest level, then you snatch the KB. The second drill is where you do a Lower Swing, a Higher Swing, then a Snatch. These drills are usually done after you have done your main Snatch set. These drills allow you to increase your workload and conditioning without overworking your grip and/or your overhead stability. You can also use them when you are learning to Snatch or when you are Snatching a KB that is heavier than you normally Snatch.
Misha used these drills to earn a Master of Sport ranking, eventually building up to doing 70 Snatches per hand with a 32kg KB in KB Sport competition. He learned these drills from World Class Master of Sport and Honored Trainer of KB Sport, Sergey Rudnev, considered to be one of the top KB Sport coaches in the world.
