@bodybuilder444444 As far as companies getting kicks from the government: Why do you think big companies typically lobby for deregulation? Do you really think its an act? lol
@bodybuilder444444 You need to look back in history and see what working conditions were like before government regulation. Just read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. Read about child labor in the US or about early assembly lines. We had sweatshops. You're basically arguing for sweatshops and child labor you realize what you are saying?
@bodybuilder444444 You're arguing against minimum wage. LOOK AT THE 1800's! Look at the lives of workers back without minimum wage and a 40 hour work week. Theres a reason unions came into existence.
As to your "shop elsewhere" idea: You have no idea about what poverty is do you? You don't think about transportation costs vs food cost vs rent vs healthcare and such bc those are not things you need to worry about. Sorry the world isn't ideal.
Our schools arent great in areas bc we cut education
@flyoverjoe You can say its logical but that doesn't mean factual. Logic and facts are different. You can put together a logical argument using false information. All his arguments are based on ideal conditions. We do not live in a world with ideal conditions. Children born to middle class families have less than a 1% chance of making it to the top income bracket while children born in that income bracket have a 25% chance of achieving it for themselves. There's an earning gap for minorities.etc
@pan488 Lastly, and most importantly, to pull the argument "what can we do to stop them jipping us?" That's an argument against individual responsibility. "I can't decide for myself, so the gov't needs to come in and regulate the game to do what I want for me." Stop shopping, demand accountability in your gov't and learn economics. Then we wont be poor. The big corporations who are the only "affordable" places to buy from are 9/10 getting gov't help to crush the competition. It's a FACT.
@pan488 (con't) the job world? Gov't schools usually. So they come out of these schools, some still not even knowing how to read, and you expect them to be competent. I am not blaming the kids, I am blaming the schools. Then, with their incompetencies, they have to now somehow justify a higher minimum wage, which most of them cannot. Side note, if MW worked, why not boost it up to $100/hr? The feds print money, stimulus, bailouts, this inflate prices as well, furthering the hardship on the poor.
@flyoverjoe I do not mean to sound dismissive. I apologize if I came off that way. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@flyoverjoe Look at the history of our country. You do yourself a disservice to consider another side if it is not historically accurate.

That's fine, but you're really doing yourself a disservice by not even considering it. He's very logical, and the book is an easy read.
