  • Huayño or huayno (Quechua: wayñu, Spanish: huaiño, huayño, huayno) is a genre of popular Andean music especially common in Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. It originated in Peru as a combination of traditional rural folk music and popular urban dance music. High-pitched vocals are accompanied by a variety of instruments, including flute, harp, panpipe, accordion, saxophone, charango, lute, violin, guitar, harmonica and mandolin.

  • @LeoHareMusic what kind of fucking lie is that!?! LMAO and 5 thumbs up from bolivian dick riders hahahhaa.

  • noobie

  • This is absolutely fantastic! I love it!

  • Thanks for these vids. I'm waiting for my charango to be delivered and will go through all your videos. I'm glad to see lessons in english. I tell my mom that I want to learn to play the charango and learn a huayno. She laughs and tells me that when she grew up in Lima, the indians would camp at the outskirts of the city. Every night she'd hear the thump-ditty-thump of a huayno 'til she got sick of it. She loves the music but was sick of it at the time. They partied every night. LOL

  • Excellent lesson. Very instructive. I like the technique of switching between E7 and Am to close the intro. Many thanks.

  • Thanks so much !

  • Thanks so much for taking the time to make and post these videos! They really help a guitar player make the leap to Charango playing.

  • You're awesome! Where did you purchase your charango?
