Abkhazia a nation for 1200 years? Academics aren't supposed to be swallowing nationalist fairy tales.

Georgia can scarcely be called a nation before well into the 19th century, and that was built on over a thousand years of high culture, mixed with Russian technology and education.

Abkhazia wasn't a nation. It was just a nationality, a people with unique customs and culture whose elites had occasionally formed a state or two in the past. And there was no absurd invisible line in the Inguri.
