just imagine the chills to this song when BOTH brothers in Skynyrd family were there to play it at a concert!!!...& those days are gone!!...still 38 years on...you still rock guys!! let rock never die!

@telemarr1 - That was Charlie Daniels... He always wants to make this HIS song. It was nice when he got the original band back together in 1979 for VJ5 but here it was 10 years later and he was trying to do it again! He always wanted this to be HIS song. He finally did re-record it on one of his own albums... What a putz. I used to love Charlie Daniels and I still have great respect for the man but I think he lost some of his integrity along the way. He is still a great musician & American tho.

@howtodohelp - It's good to see someone who appreciates good music and not just pop bullshit. There are some bands who still carry the torch but seeing that they are not commercial POP, nobody hears about them. If you want to hear some great music from bands that are current check out, Iron & Wine, The Great Lakes Swimmers, Sigur Ros, Mark Kozalek and Tristeza.. This is a beautiful tribute. Brother to brother. Your brother is truly a free bird now. I will put a feather in my visor in my car as a tribute to all the free birds alive and or dead. I am a free bird and I salute all the freebirds. I salute all those who think they are grim reapers because they survived death and it is my mission to let them know they are angels in disguise. To all the angels in disguise. I hold up a bottle of Jack Daniels. I don't drink but I still hold a bottle in case.
