I was a police doghandler at Marham 77-78 .Have fond memories of 19 and 214 sqdn's . I seem to remember one taking off then landing on its nose wheel . The fire section were their in seconds covering the aircraft in foam. Oh I also remember some hay going on fire at the dog section and the tannoy booomed "There is a dog at the fire section. I repeat there is a dog at the fire section". Aaaahhhh those were the days. Ex RAFP Qpd
Yes, First flew it in Sep 1964 as a Blue Steel Bomber, last operational K2 flight in 1980, last "flew" it by accident in Aug 2006!!! Just lifted off by a foot!!
