@Moog167 I've do 11/8 quite often (4+3+4); that thrice makes 33. It can mosty easily be rhythmed like (4th 4th + 4th 8th + 4th 4th) or (long, long + long short - long long). Another way could be doing 5/8 + 6/8 but changing each beat into a triole of 16ths.

I started listening to Don Ellis in 1965. Being a drummer I was blown away by all the odd time stuff he did. I wrote parts out and tried to understand all of it. Tears of Joy is one of my favorite LP's of my entire life. And yes - Bulgarian Bulge is one of my favorite cuts. I have two different versions of it. The one on Tears of Joy is incredible.
