Mark Knopfler and Chet Atkins play "I'll see you in my dreams" and Imagine live at Secret Policeman's Third Ball 1987.

'Imagine' by John Lennon.

Great stuff.

Enjoy!

  • @icystratopaul I think you are giving him too much credit... sure Steve Vai is technically a good player if you enjoy listening to dive bombs and scales/arpeggios played really fast. Knopfler and Chet Atkins are a completely different style of music. I personally would rather listen to a Dire Straits song or Chet Atkins playing any day over anything Steve Vai has ever done.

  • i'd rather listen to this instead of steve vai anyday.

  • meus artista favorito dois grandes proficionais que hoje dificil encontrar igual parabens mark knoplfer e chent atkins

  • @Trebornworb Totally agree

  • best instrumental of imagine ever heard, love mark knopfler he's my all time favourite guitarist just a beautiful style

  • its totally fine to enjoy this more than Vai's music but to say that all he does is just "dive bombs and fast arpegios" is an arrogant thing to say. His playing is not only technically proficient but also has great musical taste and value. Please take into consideration the fact that you must know ones music before you critisize it

  • @Stickmodee True that! Forget the Naysayers. Talent like that, soul stirring and serene, can have only one source. What other music can move us that way? I've posted before, regarding Marks playing; it has to be a gift from God. I feel that he plays to Him. Peace...

  • Two guys having fun and sounding good doing it. Works for me. Thanks.

  • Mark Knopler playing with George Bush..fuckin'hell!

  • For those who dig this, search for versions of this tune by Bucky Pizzarelli and Howard Alden -- less ragtimey, but great!

  • Could someone tell me what guitars they are playing? They look like some kind of Custom Made Gibson J-200's. Are they actual Gibsons (production) or where these custom build for just these two astonishing musicians?

    I would love to know.

Thanks a lot in advance ;)

    Greets Arne
