  • This made me realize that you could find a stud this way and if you are looking for a more elusive one further down, you can measure out the rest of the studs on the wall (assuming they are 16" on center). I guess the further away you get, the more prone to small errors adding up. But less error if you are just looking to hang something at the next stud over. Thanks for the tips!

  • @StudLeez34 Yes most of the time that would be right. However older homes don't hold true to that. At least all of the time. Now that would also depend on what side that framer started from as well. So don't just assume 16" on center.
