Re Driveshafts: I've owned five of these LT's over the years having flipped them working at a BMW dealer. I've never had any problem with the driveshafts, and only heard of one friend of mine having one break on him, and that was over a ten-year period of sales of these bikes.

Owned and sold a 2000 K12....no problems with drive shaft...they are a little clumsy at slow speed and expensive for service.....other than that they are great machines.....

I am thinking of buying a 2002 BMW 1200 LT. Is it a good bike. I have heard some people had trouble with the drive shafts . Any feed back would be great. I think they are gorgeous bikes . Thanks

Cheers friend. I actually have a 2007 & yes it has a xenon for low & a halogen (underneath)for high.
I think 2009 is going to be the last of this shape though & if they change the CC then it wont be k1200lt anymore.
