I have to say, I haven't heard anyone else sing it. I saw that about its origin in a documentary about Judy's films, but I didn't know that she ever sang the Gaelic words. I wonder if anyone has dug up a bootleg? Wouldn't that be marvelous?

Really?! I can't wait! I did a little research on the origin of the song and discovered it's been around since the 1700s! Judy sang it in it's original Irish-Gaelic language when she performed it live in Dublin in 1951. Of course, she added her own swing twist to it in her recorded versions and when she performed it elsewhere. So far, hers is the only version I've ever heard (besides a nice guitar rendition somebody has posted on YouTube). I wonder who else might have recorded it.

I'm working on it, but for some reason, YouTube insists on cutting it off in the middle... Anyhow, it'll be up before the end of the week, I promise.

Here's some more ideas: Blue Skies (written by Irving Berlin, recorded by various artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Betty Hutton, Dinah Washington, Judy Garland), I Cried for You (Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Sarah Vaughan, others), Don't Leave Me Daddy (Dinah Shore, Judy Garland, Ruth Etting, others), Strange Fruit (Billie Holiday - a very powerful song, though dark and depressing). Do any of these appeal to you?
i'm really not taking it out on your singing, i ACTUALY think it sucks, but ok. i'm sorry.

I've never met you and the worst I've done to you is insulting your grammar on one video! Why would that give you license to insult me?
I'm very sorry that I hurt your feelings, but I wish you wouldn't take that out on my singing.
