George Orwell would've "doubleplus" puked had he been at Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion's January 22, 2009 ENERSOURCE public meeting. It certainly was the Mayor's "goodthinker" crowd attending that night.

One major question, "Why weren't the seven other Councillors at the meeting?" was never dealt with. Mississauga intends of setting the record straight right now with a transcript of the January 21st 2009 Council meeting.

Hazel McCallion ducked a simple YES/NO question asked by Councillor Carolyn Parrish. Here we go. In the interest of Truth, rather than from Mississauga "Muni-True":

Councillor Carolyn Parrish: Well, listening to my astute colleagues, I will withdraw the motion and I would ask the Mayor to ah, since it's your meeting tomorrow to lay out what the Rules of Engagement will be. How often can we speak. Can we address questions asked from the podium, or in fact, will it be time for a statement on our own behalf and that's the end of it.

Mayor Hazel McCallion: You know. It's a public meeting. (soft, barely legible) I have no comments on any of the comments that they'll make. It's a public meeting that the Mayor's holding and I have invited all of you to come. Those on the side of the issue that [sic] wishes to buyout Borealis. I want the public to hear your position and I want the public to hear the position of those that [sic] believe we should not be buying out and the reasons. That's the purpose of the meeting.

Councillor Carolyn Parrish: But do we speak once. (index finger signals "one")

Mayor Hazel McCallion: I would, uh —it's a public meeting to hear from the public.

Mayor McCallion then talks about the format, presentation by Chairman of Enersource etc etc etc. As is so typical of Mississauga (from Mayor on down to the minion-est of the evil empire minions) McCallion evades Councillor Parrish's very specific YES/NO question, "But do we speak once? (index finger signals One)" Had McCallion said YES, she'd have allowed Parrish a free skate and therefore potentially flummox McCallions Message. Had McCallion said NO, she'd have confirmed the piece of PROPAGANDA the evening would be.
