Here's why google shouldn't get into this. The health sciences industry should ask themselves now, do we really want an advertising company that is publicly traded and answers only to the interests of its investors to handle this? Look what has happened with their gmail service, they scan your personal emails to deliver targeted advertising.
All they do is advertising, their entire revenue stream comes from advertising! Thats why their main interest is driving traffic to their websites. Lets keep in mind that! This is why improving health care systems is not in their interest as much as controlling this information for their undisclosed purposes. I am pretty sure that the industry can consolidate a much better, standardized and universally accessible solution that is not in control of one corporate entity.
