First in the 911 call the operater asked if the caller knew what race the suspects were and the neighbor said she didn't know.

Second , Gates didn't produce an ID with his address on it he showed the cop his Harvard ID as if to say, I'm a Harvard professor and your a lowly cop, I don't answer to you.

Third , even if the cop knew it was Gates house the cop needed to search the place in case a robber was inside forcing gates to say everything was alright

the neighbor clearly said that she didn't know if he forced his way in or not. so she wasn't even sure if there was forced entry. things should have been handled accordingly by the police with less aggression.

once again you are not required to show photo identification by law unless you have been suspected of committing a crime, in the case of Gates it had already been established by reasonable amount of evidence that he resided there. are you gonna tell me that the video I just uploaded about the Jungle monkey comment is okay too?
