regarding keeping a newf in an apt... they need their walks and so forth, but they love to Snooze most of the day! They are wonderfully mellow dogs and I think it would be a good fit.
Ours is 10 Y.o. now, and he loves to hang out outside, or inside. Just be careful that they aren't left alone in a situation where there's a balcony or wall they could climb over and fall or hurt themselves. They're so big, we don't realize how easy it is for them to do that! Good Luck! Newfs are GREAT fam dogs!

How much does Maggie weigh? We just got a female Newfie Landseer and she looks like she is going to be a big girl... I read that females can reach 120 pounds but was wondering if they can get bigger than that? And I agree that dogs deserve to be with their families...not outside on a chain!

Newfies I believe on average live to be around 10 yrs old. Many newfs are living quality lifes past 10. My girl Maggie is now 10 1/2 and is doing great. My boy Leo passed at 13 yrs 3 months. He was a real trooper!

Yes. About ten is good. In the UK they get a certificate at ten. I have three 12 year olds but they are slowing down. My best girl lived to her 15th birthday. I try to keep them active; not to much weight. Always lovely to see these videos. Thanks for sharing.

Glad to hear your BEST girl made it to 15. Yes, keeping them active, involved and lean are all necessary parts of the equation. I love all the the great work you do with your newfs. You are a true inspiration! Keep up the great work.
