  • @TheParadisis Both Don Diego de la Vega and Alejandro Murrieta are from California. From the setting and introduction, it can be assumed that it takes place around 1820-1830, about a decade or two after the Mexican War of Independence. But to answer your question, Mexican.

  • @TheParadisis Mexican. I say this because in the movie, one of the first scenes has to do with the citizens voting on Californian...schtuff. Also the architecture of the building seems more southern USA/Mexican. Not very solid proof, but hey you could always Google it.
