In what is still considered the biggest moment in the history of the franchise. Jamie Baker scores the eventual game winner and the final seconds tick down on one of the biggest upsets in NHL history.

  • What kind of helmet does irbe wear?

  • @GhillieSasquatch it was a really old Jofa helmet worn mostly in 1980's especially with European players.

  • @KaesoBrutus probably not the biggest upset in Wings history but it's up there. It's one of the biggest upsets in league history mainly because the Sharks started 0-8-2 to begin that season after finishing the 1992-93 season with an 11-71-2 record.

  • The Sharks have an amazing history of their own even without the cup.......

  • @SgtHolton 1994 Sharks were infinitely more talented team than hideous 1993 squad: Ozolinsh, Falloon, Gaudreau, Irbe, & Whitney were not missing from lineup for long stretches like previous year & they had added Errey, Elik, Makarov, Norton, & HoFer Larionov. Plus, Wings made Conf Final in 1988 & Cup Final in 1995 but in between they only got past 1st round once & needed all 7 games & 2 wins in OT vs Minn to do that in 1992. Today this upset is not quite as shocking as 17 years ago.

  • @industrialsun This was a bigger upset because the Red Wings were the best in the Conference, and the Sharks were coming off the worst regular season in the history of hockey in 92-93.

  • I hope we don't have another game 7 against Detroit for the 3rd time if we play them for the 6th time in the playoffs. If you guys can prove that you can beat the Red Wings 4 games to nothing let's prove it and maybe even do the same to DALLAS!

  • I hate Dallas even more than Detroit.

  • being a life long red wings fan living in san jose, i remember this. this was hearttttttttbreaking. still remember it like yesterday.

  • @dg79511876:Or loose 4 games to nothing in 2010 with Chicago, the same way Detroit did to them back in 95.

  • @thuhcameron Doesn't matter. You win game 7, and the stuff is forgotten. How come people don't call the canucks chokers for winning game 7 against Chicago? they didn't lose the series.

  • @SebastianSlasherMP Took both the St Louis Blues and the New York Islanders (both lesser teams than the Sharks) to the playoffs following his first stint in Detroit. Don't underestimate Osgood. He was a fantastic goaltender.

  • Detroit is the most consistent franchise in the league right now. Was this a huge loss? Obviously. But i'd take 4 cups in the last 20 years. Better than any franchise at the moment.
