  • Any idea when the construction on the red line is going to be done??? alameda-oriente. soon will be s. sebastiao-oriente. Im sure its going to save daily comuters lots of time. For exp: if some one is going from amadora -leste to oriente they dont have to go down all the way to baixa do chiado!!

  • The extension is due to be opened in the middle of the year, but if ML follows its tradition is right before Christmas!

  • mtveurope: Last winter I went back to lisbon I took the subway for the first time since 1986!! And every body was using the cell-phone. I live in the U.S. And I use n.y.c. subway system all the time and its a pain in the ass not to be able to use the cell-phone!!!

  • Yes, before having coverage on the Lisbon network, it was also very painful also not being able to be reached.

  • Do you know that is is possible to use the cell-phone in the lisbon subway. Not in the n.yc. subway!!!

  • In a lot of subway systems is possible to use mobile phones.

Massive transport systems are adapting to support it. For instance, London underground is installing it.

In Madrid Metro several parts of the network (mainly central ones) already have mobile networks coverage, while the outside ones don't.
