  • what is this? another polish movie with swedes? why have the poles done more movies about us and our kings in the 1700's then we have ourselves?

i think someone needs to have a long serious talk with our filmindustry...

  • Karl XII:s grandfather Carl Gustav died at Lützen? Thank you. Thats new information! We have to rewrite history.

  • @Borin81 Because we are much open minds and we interested in much more history facts than scandinavian.

  • Battle of Fraustadt (1706).

    Swedish forces: 9400 men.

    Russian-Saxon-Polish forces: atleast 20 000 men.

    Casualties:

    Swedish: 400 dead, 1000 wounded.

Russian-Saxon-polish: atleast 8000 dead, 7900 captured (some of the captured were recruited into the swedish military later).

Swedish military was really excellent back then! Long live the Swedish Empire!

  • (From wikipedia)

Battle of Fraustadt February 3, 1706.

A numerically superior Saxon-Russian-Polish-Lithuanian here were destroyed in a very short time by General Carl Gustaf Rehn Skiöld (not Karl XII) and the victory counted together with Narva in 1700 and 1708 Holowczyn to his great victories

  • @Borin81 Thank you for your well thinking about us. Do you know what are the reasons? The society which has the "noveau rich character" is rather not interested in history and literature. The next reason - 'political correctness' - even being interested in the history of your own country is forbidden by this sick ideology. I have read the interview with Sabbaton and they were talking about it

  • @perdahlberg Yes, it's a great factual mistake in this movie and I'm really ashamed. Especially because as a graduate faculty of historical at the Poznan University I was written about the war between Sweden, Denmark and Brandenburg 1675-9 (Fehrbellin, Skanska Kriget etc.).

  • bitwa pod Fraustadt czyli Wschową, a poza tym poszli von lutry szwedzkie

  • @perdahlberg

exactly cousin great-grandfather, but in a speech that sounded bad :)

  • ingen aning, han hade aldrig glitterkläder på sig.

han skulle ha haft en liknande uniform som soldaten han har med sig i verkligheten.

  • yeah i know, we cant do movies about our own past because some derps may take offence and we cant have that for the sake of multikult.

but there was that "Snapphanarna" tv series.
