God this dub took ages to make, which is funny really as it's only 1:30 long! I must've spent at least half a day recording different takes and replacing different parts with newer ones. And then came the editing which seemed to be hell as there are a lot of quieter or lower sections which were hard to hear and needed to be adjusted. It's still not perfect but I got aggravated trying to make it better so I'll just have to be satisfied with this!

A little information about the song. I've loved this film for a long time. I think I must've at one point seen it when i was younger but i don't believe it took my interest especially. I really got into it only a couple of years ago and I bought the dvd. I fell in love with the music which is fabulous, beauty to behold and also it was like no other animated movie I had seen. It deals with big issues.

This has always been a big favourite of mine and I'm surprised to not see more dubs of it. I think the feelings that Moses feels (which are shown so well by the lyrics and original recording) through the song are so strong and powerful. It's really the turning point in the film.

My version is a bit different to the film (though I love the original) and I tried to really feel Moses's distress, confusion and pride of his home and family. Trying to imagine, discovering a new sister and discovering I'm part of a a people that I don't think much of. It almost made me cry at the opening bit with the dramatic music. I really hope I showed that at least in the song. As I said before I respect the music, and the reason i spent so much time on it was because I wanted it to be as good as it could be, with the amazing version in the film, I have a lot to live up to. I still see a million mistakes and things I can improve but I'm a hard critic :/
