Multiple sclerosis is considered a disease of myelin destruction;
The availability of novel tools in molecular neurogenetics and increasingly sophisticated neuroimaging technologies has lead to the discovery and the recognition that cumulative axonal loss and neuronal injury correlates to neurological disability.
Correlation between current MRI measures and clinical disability is weak.
Despite important advances in therapeutics for MS, none of the currently available disease-modifying drugs have yet been shown to significantly alter the long-term natural history of the disease....

Im been taking tysabri since aug '08 and I'm still wating for an improvment in my systoms.

I never wanted to take my medicine when i was first diagnosed but not to do so is incredibly foolish. It's so important. It's ther for a reaon. If you can slow down or alter the state of your MS. Why wouldn't you?

Before you dismiss all of the drugs, see youtube video # 7ltBdtku01E - it is the new Chairman of MSIF (Europe) and you will hear that he is on Tysabri, and had remarkable benefits (disappearance of a major symptom) after only ONE infusion. Please listen, his video is not intended to be about Tysabri, but it is the one that has helped him considerably.
